An MOT at Clark & Partners represents great value. Our MOTs take approximately an hour, but could take a little longer if we have to carry out any minor repairs. You can leave your car with us any time from 7.30am. You don’t need to bring any documentation, unless your car is undergoing its first MOT or has had a change of registration plate since its last MOT. In these cases, you will need to bring your V5C vehicle registration certificate (log book).

MOT tests can be carried out up to 28 days prior to the expiry date of an existing UK MOT certificate.

What is checked in an MOT?

  • Lights
  • Horn
  • Battery
  • Electrical wiring
  • Condition of towbar (if applicable)
  • Steering
  • Suspension
  • Brakes
  • Tyres
  • Seat belts and restraints
  • Body
  • Registration plates
  • Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
  • Speedometer
  • Exhaust system
  • Fuel system
  • Emissions
  • Mirrors

All of the above elements must be fully functional and meet the MOT requirements in order to pass. Check your wipers, tyres and lights before your test to increase the chance of your car passing its test.
