We have been progressing the Land Rover Defender since we last updated the blog. Our technicians have continued to strip back the Defender, almost down to its chassis.
Almost all of the original Defender has now been removed, ready to be replaced with new parts. Here are pictures of the progress so far…
The brand new custom-made steel chassis arrives. It is made by Richard Chassis and has been made to meet the specifications of this Land Rover. They currently make 33 chassis a week and that number may be set to rise with Land Rover discontinuing manufacture of the Defender.
Our garage staff lift the chassis off the trailer. The stripped down Defender can be seen to the left of the picture.
It takes 6 men to lift the chassis off the trailer.
The first part of the chassis is moved off the trailer.
The chassis will soon be fitted to the Defender.
The Defender is barely recognisable. It will be entirely rebuilt with new parts.

The steel chassis will completely transform the old Defender.
Keep checking back for further updates from the garage.
